We will continue to set our goals for the school year this week.  Please have them turned in through Google classroom by Thursday, August 31.

Fall trip forms will be sent home on Tuesday, August 29, and they are due back by Wednesday, September 13.  If your child will need medications on the trip, please remember that you must have a different form for each medication, even over-the-counter meds.  Please get these forms to your doctor ASAP so that you can get them turned in on time.

Language Arts

Week of August 21

We will continue to get to know one another this week as we build the foundation for our learning environment.  We will also start getting into some of the routines and procedures for LA such as expectations for entering the room, how silent reading will work, signing out and leaving the classroom, etc.

You will also join my Google classroom where a majority of your assignments will be turned in for class.  On Monday, we will have some special activities to go with the incredible experience of viewing an eclipse.

Lastly, remember that Friday (August 25) is our first field trip, Community Day.  We will not have LA class on Friday due to this field trip.  Don't forget to bring a sack lunch and wear your CHOICE shirts!

Co-op

Week of August 21

We will begin working on our "Story Sculptures" this week.  Hopefully you spent a little time over the weekend thinking about a great story to share and what object you can sculpt to help illustrate your story.  We will also get more in-depth with our Regatta planning and preparation as well.

If you have not brought in a binder with 8 dividers to use as a portfolio, you need to bring that in this week. I'm looking forward to a great week and to experiencing an amazing eclipse with you all!

REMEMBER: We have our first field trip, Community Day, on Friday, August 25. You will need to bring a sack lunch for the field trip.  It is a walking field trip, so it is also very important to remember to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable walking shoes.  Sunscreen is also advised.  Lastly, you are highly encouraged to wear your CHOICE shirts for Community Day!

Also, please make sure that you have completed the electronic permission slip form for all local field trips. THIS IS REQUIRED FOR FRIDAY'S COMMUNITY DAY FIELD TRIP! Please use link below:

LANGUAGE ARTS

Welcome to Morrow's LA class.  I pumped to start working with you all as readers and writers.  The first week of class will be activities meant to build a strong foundation for a safe, inclusive, and fun learning environment before moving into narrative writing.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you in starting the school year!

CO-OP

I'm really excited to get the school year started with you all! I'm looking forward to all the team building and Regatta prep with you over the next couple of weeks.  Remember that as your Co-op teacher I'm your point person for any and all questions and concerns.  Please let me know what I can do to help you get off to a successful start. Let's begin the year strong and let that momentum carry us through the school year!
